Antelope Canyon Arizona

Antelope Canyon is situated 20 minutes drive from Lake Powell in Arizona.
It is a quarter of a mile long and one hundred feet deep located underneath a dry river bed and accessed by a gap about the width of two people on the floor of the river bed.
After negotiating steep, narrow steps you are soon in a magical world of dramatic form, soft hues of limestone, terracotta and pale purple brought to life by the sunlight entering from the overhead slot which runs the length of the canyon.
A place to be avoided if there is any hint of flash flooding as torrents of water quickly engulf the canyon.
