TERRINGTON LAVENDER FARM N YORKSHIRE
Terrington Lavender Farm, N Yorks
Yorkshire Lavender is a specialist nursery and lavender garden set in a spectacular hillside farm of nearly sixty acres, within the Howardian Hills, fourteen miles east of York in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Late in the afternoon at the end of July, when the air was filled with butterflies and bees busily collecting pollen from fragrant pink, white and blue lavender beds, laid out in a patchwork on the hillside in the afternoon sun.
I was experimenting with a little stopper filter for a long exposure to enhance the movement of the grasses when two visitors to the garden. One wearing a full skirt and a wide brimmed sun hat stopped to admire the lavender, which resulted in the ghostly image resembling a lady from times gone by.
